Audience Demographic
The ideal target audience demographic for my group's thriller would suitably be males between the ages of 16 and 21, mainly because they would enjoy upbeat thrillers such as "Essex Boys" (2000) and "Animal Kingdom" (2010) as they follow a male protagonist of a similar age. However, our thriller film may also appeal the attraction of females aswell between 16 - 21.
On Amazon.co.uk, people who have bought "Essex Boys" (2000) have gone on to buy other films which mainly follow male protagonists which involve violent events and plots. Because my group's thriller involves both of these aspects, the target audience would ideally be males.

Questionnaires have been carried out to see if this ideal target audience would be attracted to watch my group's thriller. A total of 18 where carried out to audiences between the ages of 16 -17, both male and female who viewed my version of my group's thriller edit.
(PLEASE NOTE: The audience viewed my edit, not James' edit, when it comes to our final edit, we will combine the best features and improve upon any feedback which we have been given for our final outcome).
- 10 questionnaires where filled out by males.
- 8 questionnaires where filled out by females.
Out of the 10 questionnaires by males, 1/2 agreed that they would carry on to watch the rest of the film, and the other 1/2 ticked "undecided".
The 1/2 who agreed that they would watch the rest of the film, all circled either a number 4 or 5 which would rate these following questions:
- Was the film easy to understand the narrative?
- Did the sequence hold your attention?
- How do you rate the camera work and editing?
- How do you rate the standard of mise-en-scene, to include colour, figure, lighting, objects?
- Is the production clearly the opening of a thriller film?
Out of the 8 questionnaires by females, 5 agreed that they would watch the rest of the film, whereas 2 where undecided and only 1 circled that they would not view the entire film.
